Teaching & Training

Members of the Bernstein Center offer interdisciplinary lectures, seminars and practical training in the field of Computational Neuroscience, linking up various disciplines – from information technology to neurobiology, from theoretical physics to neurology. Of special importance is the Graduate School of Systemic Neurosciences, GSN, which was established at LMU within the scope of the German "Excellence Initiative". The GSN is an interdisciplinary, independent institution with faculty status, awarding the titles of PhD and MD PhD.

LMU PhD program

The GSN is closely linked to the international Master Program Neurosciences, funded by the "Elite Network" of Bavaria and embedded in the coordinating activities of the Munich Center for Neurosciences – Brain & Mind, MCN. The Master Program supplements teaching with special training events in theoretical and computational neuroscience. The program thus points the way to the study of computational neuroscience and to possible PhD projects in the Bernstein Center. Link to a film about the GSN Munich.
